World Public Health Outreach (WPHO) is the outreach arm of North Dakota Public Health Training Network. WPHO provides academic scholarships to support the development of public health leaders to build and run public health programs.

 
 

About the WPHO Scholarship Fund

WPHO awards scholarships to Indigenous students pursuing training and advanced education in public health practice. The goal with these scholarships is to fund the development of Indigenous public health leaders who can run public health programs.

Scholarship Details

  1. Typically range from $250 - $10,000

  2. Funds are paid directly to the training institution, not to the individual.

  3. GPA of 3.0 (B or equivalent) is required to maintain the scholarship if it extends beyond one course or semester.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Identify as part of an Indigenous people group.

  2. Work in public health or plan to work in public health.

  3. Show proof of enrollment (or intent to enroll) in a public health academic program or a NDPHTN specialized certificate program.

  4. Demonstrate leadership ability or aptitude.
